A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a car on the south side of Des Moines on June 4.

First responders were called to the intersection of Southwest Ninth Street and Luster Lane just after 6:30 p.m. The motorcyclist was dead when first responders arrived, according to a news release from the Des Moines Police Department.

The driver of the car was injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for care. Two other passengers in the car were not injured, the release said.

The crash resulted in a temporary road closure as police investigated the incident.
