MATTHEWS, N.C. (WBTV) - A man accused of kidnapping a woman on Monday in Matthews was found and arrested two days later.
Records showed 23-year-old Logan Calaway was placed in the Mecklenburg County Jail on Wednesday, June 4. He was charged with second-degree kidnapping, stalking, and assault by strangulation.
What happened
Police said that Calaway forced a woman into a BMW near the Extended Stay hotel on Matthews-Mint Hill Road just before 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 2.
After she was reportedly forced into the car, officers said it sped away.
Shortly after the reported kidnapping, officers said they found the woman unharmed, but that Calaway was still on the run.
Two days later, on Wednesday, police announced they had located and apprehended Calaway.
