San Bernardino and Clark counties were placed under a flash flood warning by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 11:35 a.m. The warning is in effect until 4 p.m.
“At 11:35 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly,” according to the NWS Las Vegas NV . “Life-threatening flash flooding of low-water crossings, creeks, normally dry washes and roads.”
Locations impacted by the warning include Searchlight, Jean, Primm, Nipton Road Mile Marker 3, Nipton, Nipton And Ivanpah Roads, Goodsprings, Cottonwood Cove Campground and Willow Beach.
The NWS said, “Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”
