A Clarksdale man has been arrested and charged with first-degree arson following an investigation into a house fire on Wayne Drive last month.
On May 25, Tupelo police officers responded to a call at 2007 Wayne Drive, where an unoccupied residence was found to have been intentionally set on fire.
An investigation was immediately launched by Tupelo Police Detectives in collaboration with Tupelo Fire Investigators.
After identifying a person of interest, authorities arrested 45-year-old Christopher Malone of Clarksdale on June 3. He has been officially charged with Arson – 1st Degree.
Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Sumner ordered Malone to be held without bond during a hearing on June 4. The case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury for further consideration.
