A Leeds United supporter who was left in a coma after falling from a tree during last month’s promotion parade has revealed he was given only a 10% chance of survival and has thanked medical staff for saving his life.
Ed O’Brien has heaped praise on those at Leeds General Infirmary, to whom “I now owe everything that follows”, and staff at St James’ University Hospital for sustaining his road to recovery, with the 23-year-old now back at home a month after the accident .
He also thanked all those who donated to a fundraiser that provided finances for his family to travel and take time off work while he was in hospital. Nearly £15,000 was raised by 878 donors, one of which was 49ers investor Larry Nance Jr.
