ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Time is ticking down for our Rochester seniors to say goodbye forever to their high school days. One soon-to-be graduate is leading the way towards the future.

Before he throws up his graduation cap and walks the stage towards the next chapter of his life, Javier Ortiz is being honored for setting a good example: embodying his school’s success.

“At first, I was like a little nervous, because obviously I’m representing my school and that’s a big thing," Javier said.

Javier is featured in Rochester City School District’s “Countdown to Graduation”. One senior student from every graduating class is chosen to share what their high school life looked like as they prepare to turn the page.
