The Wolverines will put their undefeated record against directional Michigan schools on the line when they host Central Michigan on Sep. 13.

Michigan hasn’t lost this sort of game in decades, and these Chippewas don’t seem up to the task.

This is the third and final “early look” at Michigan’s nonconference football opponents for 2025. The Wolverines also play New Mexico and Oklahoma this fall. A week after the trip to Norman and a week before beginning Big Ten play at Nebraska, the Wolverines welcome Central Michigan.

The Chippewas have posted three straight losing seasons (13-23 during that time), bringing the Jim McElwain era to a disappointing end. He retired after last season’s 4-8 campaign and was replaced by Matt Drinkall, a 42-year-old who’d been an assistant at Army the past
