In just a few months Elon Musk has gone from donor, adviser and chief cheerleader for Donald Trump to his most vocal and scathing critic .

Musk spent more than $250m on Trump’s election campaign, appeared at campaign rallies, and spent election night at his Mar-a-Lago resort.

The tech billionaire, who is the world’s richest man, was appointed to lead a new Government department to cut out inefficiency and excess spending.
