Winnipeg firefighters responded to two separate structure fires within minutes of each other on Thursday evening.

The first incident occurred at 4:58 p.m. in the 500 block of Young Street. When crews arrived, they encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from a house. Firefighters brought the fire under control by 5:38 p.m. All occupants had exited the home before crews arrived. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation, and no damage estimate has been released.

Shortly after, at 5:12 p.m., fire crews were called to a townhouse fire in the 0-100 block of Snow Street. Flames and thick black smoke were visible on arrival. The fire was under control by 5:47 p.m.

Everyone inside the affected unit evacuated safely before crews arrived. Firef
