Rounds of storms are expected to bring potentially severe weather into Kentucky Friday and Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
A leading line of isolated and scattered storms is expected to travel west to east across Kentucky Friday afternoon. The NWS said the main line of potentially severe weather will follow behind the leading line and will not arrive in western Kentucky until around 4 p.m.
The storms are expected to leave Central Kentucky around 9 p.m., according to the NWS. Lexington’s greatest chance for severe weather is between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Tornadoes are not expected from the storms , and the main threats are 30-40 mph winds, lightning and ponding on roads, according to the NWS. Some hail is also possible.
