LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A cold front draped across the state along with an upper-level disturbance will lead to showers and storms, especially this afternoon into the evening hours.

It will be a warm and muggy day with highs in the low to mid-80s.

Some of the storms could be strong or severe this afternoon and evening, with damaging wind gusts the primary threat. However, isolated large hail, an isolated tornado, and localized flooding can't be ruled out.

We could see some lingering showers early Saturday morning before a period of dry weather moves in from midday into the early afternoon, thanks to the cold front south and east of the area.
