GOBLES, MI –– Whether it be doubts, time off or her battle-scarred foot, Erica Barber had just about every out to not suit up for her senior season on Gobles’ softball team.

But then again, that’d go against her mantra –– no regrets.

With utmost grit and resilience, Barber has roared back from an ongoing foot injury to become the shining star of Gobles’ district championship softball team. She’s overcome, she’s battled and, perhaps most importantly, she’s seized the moment.

“No regrets, that’s been my mantra to her,” Gobles softball coach Megan Ivester said. “I just didn’t want her to have any. We knew that she couldn’t hurt (her foot) anymore so at some point, I just didn’t give her an out. I think the movement and building her confidence has been extraordinary for her.”
