Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers can now continue building their roster ahead of the start of the upcoming season, knowing that Aaron Rodgers will officially be their starting quarterback.

That means that, with three months to go, the time has come to surround the veteran with playmakers who can elevate the offense to Super Bowl contender levels. Until a few weeks ago, with DK Metcalf and George Pickens, that seemed unquestionable. However, the story is now different.

Pickens was traded to the Cowboys, and once again, the Steelers look like a team without a No. 2 star wide receiver. Despite the confidence in names like Robert Woods or Calvin Austin III, it doesn’t seem to be enough to compete with the Chiefs, Bills, or Ravens in the AFC.
