Johnson nearly unseated incumbent Democrat Susie Lee in the 2024 race for Nevada’s 3rd Congressional District covering southern Las Vegas and much of unincorporated Clark County.

From Tennessee, he founded the Tennessee Center for Policy research, a think tank, and has been an opinion contributor to Newsmax, Fox News, Townhall, The Washington Times and The Daily Caller. Much of his work has focused on exposing government waste.
