GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has appointed Cindy S. Crick to be the 13th Circuit Solicitor, which covers Greenville and Pickens Counties.

Crick takes over from Walt Wilkins, who has been serving in that position for 14 years since he was first elected in 2010.

Wilkins announced on May 29 that he would retire effective June 6 to pursue a law practice with his father.

Crick has led her own law practice since 2020. Prior to that, she spent 8 years as chief of staff to U.S. Representative Trey Gowdy.

She has also worked as an assistant solicitor in the Seventh Circuit Solicitor's Office, which covers Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties.
