Blue Diamond Growers operations in the Central Valley will be getting a boost, but it comes at a cost to the almond giant’s Sacramento facility.

Blue Diamond announced that it will shutter its Sacramento facility and transfer most of its operation to the plants in Turlock and Salida.

Zoom in: Around 600 workers will be impacted by the closure, with around 10% of them expected to leave later this year. • Blue Diamond said some of its employees will be offered the opportunity to work at the facilities in Turlock and Salida, while its corporate headquarters will remain in Sacramento. • The almond cooperative has around 3,000 employees in total.
