LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Officials with the Transit Authority of the River City (TARC) spoke at Friday's Bishop Lyons Roundtable meeting over the controversial plans for west Louisville's Nia Center.
Goodwill Kentucky wants to purchase the building from TARC to develop it into 75 new affordable housing units and allow for the potential expansion of Norton Healthcare's new West Louisville Hospital.
Nia Center tenants have been outspoken about the building's sale, with many concerned about their livelihoods.
TARC Executive Director Ozzy Gibson said they are trying to work out the department's financial troubles, but it's not a simple sale and it involves the federal government.
