BEAUFORT, S.C. (WSAV) — A person was transported to a hospital by helicopter after falling off a roof in Beaufort Friday, emergency services said.
Emergency services were dispatched to a person who had reportedly fell off a roof at approximately three stories up just after 2 p.m., City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department said.
The fall resulted in a head injury. A CARE Flight helicopter was requested and flew the person to a nearby trauma hospital within 40 minutes, officials said.
Engine Company 81 from the Burton Fire District set up the landing zone for the patient at the Broad River Boat Ramp.
The City of Beaufort/Town of Port Royal Fire Department Engine Company 4, Battalion 1 and Beaufort County EMS were the initial first responders to the call.
