FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- The Frederick area is growing by leaps and bounds with lots of construction and housing starts, and one company is working to address the demand for skilled trades.
Workforce Frederick has identified a critical need for skilled trades, particularly for plumbers, where, after a two to three-year training apprenticeship, earnings can easily reach $50 an hour.
To help meet industry demand, O'Connor Plumbing in the Sporting Ridge community of Frederick County has invested in a technology center for training, which can easily transfer to a stable career.
