An updated flash flood warning was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 9:32 p.m. in effect until 11:45 p.m. for Allegany and Cattaraugus counties.

"At 9:32 p.m., local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.25 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.25 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing and starting to recede," states the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."

Locations impacted by the warning include Franklinville, Belfast, Cuba, Rushford, Houghton, Caneadea, Friendship, Belmont, Angelica, Ischua, Lyndon, West Almond, Birdsall, Black
