DULUTH — A 10th-inning wild pitch proved the Duluth Huskies' undoing in a 2-1 Northwoods League loss to the La Crosse Loggers on Friday at Wade Stadium.

Led by the Huskies' Nate Vidlak and Parker Thomas and the Loggers' Tyler Gebb, pitchers dominated the first seven scoreless innings of the night.

La Crosse scored the game's first run in the top of the eighth inning but Duluth dug deep and got a key Trey Craig double to score Noah Furcht in the bottom of the ninth.

The Huskies had the winning run in scoring position but a strikeout and a fielder's choice ended the inning.

In the 10th inning, La Crosse got its tiebreaker runner home thanks to two Matthew Foley wild pitches, while Duluth went down in order in the bottom half.
