It was a rough Friday night for San Diego Wave FC, who suffered at loss for the first time since April, losing 2-1 to Seattle Reign FC at Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley.

Friday night’s outcome came down to two ridiculous shots from distance that got past one of the best goalies in the NWSL.

In the 87th minute, Seattle forward Emeri Adames took a chest pass from Jess Fishlock, moving up the field, twisting and turning around defender Kennedy Wesley. Adames got the ball to her left foot to blast the game-winning goal past Wave goalie Kailen Sheridan into the opposite side of the net.

It was that kind of night for the Wave.
