How should South Carolina off cials spend a $150 million grant for longterm efforts to recover from Hurricane Helene?
The public is invited to comment at a meeting on Tuesday, June 10, in the Orangeburg County Conference Center at 1643 Russell St., adjacent to the library.
Activities eligible for funding include single-family home rehabilitation, replacement and reconstruction; affordable rental housing rehabilitation; voluntary buy-outs; and projects to lessen the impact of future disasters.
Priority will be given to low-income areas.
Team members of the South Carolina Office of Resilience will deliver a presentation of their draft action plan at 6 p.m.
Afterward, until 8 p.m., attendees can ask questions, offer comments, and meet oneon-one with SCOR's Disaster Case Management Team.
