The east end could be set for an exciting new Italian restaurant after plans were submitted to transform a former bank in Dennistoun, and the man behind the exciting new project has been revealed to be none other than Open Goal host Si Ferry.

The proposal would see the former Lloyds TSB bank on Duke Street, next door to the Marina chippy, renovated and a new Italian called Grosso created in the venue, which has lain vacant since 2021.

The project saw a rendered image shared on the Glasgow city council website shows how the interior will look, with what appears to be a large pizza oven at the centre of the kitchen.

The former Celtic and Swindon player spoke to the team at Glasgow World about his plans for the space.
