LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

The Louisville Cardinals came up just short of securing a College World Series bid Saturday afternoon, but they'll get another chance.

The Cards lost 9-6 to the Miami Hurricanes in the second game of the NCAA Baseball Super Regional.

That sets up the winner-take-all third game which will be back at Jim Patterson Stadium Sunday at noon.

Miami struck first in the game with a single batting in a run for the early 1-0 lead in the second inning.

Louisville responded quickly, though, with Eddie King Jr. hitting one over the wall to score Zion Rose as well, putting the Cards up 2-1 in the third.

Then Rose hit a single to center field which let Lukas Moore score, extending the lead 3-1 going into the fourth inning.
