Isaac Dickenson signed off on his Solon Springs/Northwood track career at the current peak of his abilities, smashing his personal best over 3,200 meters by 16 seconds en route to a fourth-place finish in the Division 3 event at the Wisconsin state track and field meet that concluded on Saturday in La Crosse.

Dickenson, a Minnesota Duluth commit, stayed with the pack in what turned out to be a kicker’s finish, as the top six runners were within 1 ½ seconds of each other in the last 400 meters. He took the one-lap-to-go bell on the heels of leader Ben Beck of Iola-Scandinavia. Beck held on for the win in 9:28.02. Dickenson lost a little ground but was still within six seconds of the lead, breaking his own school record in 9:33.82.
