SHARON, Pa. - A 73-year-old Hermitage man died Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle in Sharon.

According to a release from the Mercer County Coroner's Office, the man has been identified as Robert Porterfield.

Sharon police were called to the intersection of East State Street and Buhl Boulevard at 9:32 p.m. for a report of a vehicle-pedestrian crash.

Officers found the pedestrian with serious injuries. He was transported to Sharon Regional Health System, where he later died.

The Mahoning County Coroner release states that the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the head. The manner of death was ruled as accidental.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative, according to the investigators.
