CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - A woman accused of squatting in multiple West Ashley homes will remain in jail for the time being, despite a high-risk pregnancy.

Evelyn Pollard was denied bond on Monday by Judge Roger Young as the hearing marked the latest in a legal saga stretching back to September, filled with hearings, detainments and charges.

On Jan. 7, 2025, Evelyn Pollard, along with co-defendants Christopher “Nate” Marcum and Daniel Byrd, were charged with breaking and entering into a home on Dogwood Road , along with destroying the personal property of the people who lived in the home.

Pollard’s bond totaled $125,000, while Marcum’s totaled $85,000. Byrd’s bond was reduced $25,000 through a May 7 order from Judge Van Slambrook.
