OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Monday night, community members in Owensboro came together to protest the actions of ICE.
The group gathered in Smothers Park in solidarity with other protests going on around the country, including the rising tensions in Los Angeles.
One protester, Ryan Hidalgo, says they were there to protest what they believe are the abuses of ICE by collecting individuals without due process.
“And there’s going to be you know, obviously more abuses under the Trump administration,” he says. “As he commits more abuses, activist need to be ready to face down those abuses. They need to be able to do exactly what we’re doing today coming out and raising awareness of those abuses.“
Ryan says as long as they feel there are abuses of power, they will continue to organize.
