CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A quiet Clay County neighborhood was the scene of an intense SWAT standoff overnight Tuesday that ended with one person taken into custody and left neighbors shaken.

The incident happened in the Cross Creek subdivision on Cold Stream Lane, where Clay County deputies and a SWAT team responded just after midnight. Officials urged residents to shelter in place and, in some cases, evacuate their homes.

Neighbor Christopher Rodriguez said deputies came to his door and told him to leave his home for safety.

"When we started driving by all the SWAT cars, the police, all the people, I was like, 'Oh, this is serious,'" said Rodriguez. "So, we just left and stayed out, checking our phones like, 'What’s going on?’ It was pretty scary."
