Reid Olmstead’s little brother was on the roster when Summerfield won the state baseball championship in 2019.
But Reid didn’t get to see the game.
“I was in a wedding that night,” he explained.
Olmstead is now the varsity baseball coach at his alma mater and wants to see what he missed six years ago.
Summerfield will play in the Division 4 state semifinals on Friday, June 13 with a chance to advance to the championship game the next day.
“I don’t want to miss it again,” he said. “We have a great opportunity.”
Olmstead is making sure his players realizes the enormity of the opportunity before them this week.
