Entertainment conglomerate Live Nation is set to build 18 new venues across the United States in the next 18 months, the company said on Tuesday.

In a press release from Live Nation , the company said the new hubs will range from intimate clubs to large outdoor amphitheaters. Live Nation also said that the new venues will open over the next year and a half and will cost about $1 billion to build.

Live Nation said that opening new venues in “smaller markets” would give more access to people in these cities to large events.

"Live Nation's commitment to expanding into smaller, underserved music markets means fans in vibrant places like Birmingham, AL, Virginia Beach, VA, or Allentown, PA can now experience world-class events closer to home," the announcement said.
