A motorcyclist was killed in a fiery crash on Route 80 in Parsippany-Troy Hills Tuesday, July 22, causing major delays for motorists, police said.
Troopers responded to the westbound lanes near milepost 41.6 at approximately 1:10 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron said.
A Dodge pickup truck was towing a Chevrolet Suburban when a Yamaha motorcycle struck the rear of the Chevrolet, police said.
Following the impact, all three vehicles became engulfed in flames, and the fire spread into the wooded roadside area, authorities said.
The motorcyclist died as a result of the crash, according to state police. Identification is pending.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
