Florence Police provided updates Tuesday on an apartment shooting that left a 13-year-old dead back in March.

During a press conference, police identified the juvenile arrested after Ryland Calvert's murder as 17-year-old Cameron Phinizee. Although Phinizee was not actually the one who shot Calvert, he was charged with felony murder and with being an accomplice to an armed robbery after police say he and Calvert tried to rob another person at Southern Oaks Apartments.

According to Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly, last week, a grand jury heard from 17 witnesses across seven days and concluded the shooter, who was being robbed at the time of the incident, acted in self-defense. Therefore, the shooter will not face any criminal charges.
