LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) — Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton has announced a community vigil Tuesday evening to honor the lives lost and those affected by the recent violence in the city.

In a statement, Mayor Gorton said, “Lexington has had a difficult few days. Our community is at its strongest when we are together, and that’s more important than ever right now.”

The vigil will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza. Gorton will be joined by Police Chief Lawrence Weathers, Sheriff Kathy Witt, faith leaders, and other community partners to reflect and stand in solidarity.
