A brave mum pushed a burglar out of her flat after she found him in her hallway. She caught Lee Wykes in her hallway of her flat the day before New Year's Eve last year.

The Warwick resident claimed he was 'looking for something' but the mum, who has not been identified, knew there was something wrong. She contacted the police and was able to give what has been described as a 'comprehensive description' of Wykes.

It led to detectives tracking down the 45-year-old. He was arrested but, during interview, denied any wrongdoing.

However, Warwickshire Police said its officers continued to investigate and it led to him being charged. It went on to see him pleading guilty to burglary.
