UPDATE: 07/23/25, 9:30 a.m. - According to information from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, 911 service was restored county wide on Wednesday morning.
A release from the City of Santa Maria, detailed that the outage that began Tuesday morning and continued overnight, was caused by a severed fiber cable.
The sheriff's offices of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties are reporting a 911 outage affecting areas throughout the region. Those calling 911 could receive a busy signal or a dropped call.
