SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The showers and storms on Wednesday were not as widespread as what we had for the first part of the week. However, VIPIR Radar still estimates that several locations in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry received over 1-2" of rain for the day.

The scattered rain and extra cloud cover helped to keep afternoon highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Heat index values were still over 100°F at times.

A LOOK AHEAD

As an upper-level and surface trough of low pressure pulls out of our region, a slightly drier pattern will be setting up for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Rain and storm chances for Thursday and Friday will be between 20% and 30% with most of the showers expected on Thursday.
