Celebrity chef Anne Burrell's cause of death was released on Thursday, five weeks after she died.

According to the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Burrell died by suicide.

Burrell died on June 17, 2025, at the age of 55.

Burrell was best known for being the host of "Worst Cooks in America" on the Food Network.

Burrell’s family said in a statement provided by the Food Network that her “light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world.”

“Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal,” their statement added.
