Days are numbered at ‘Tent City,’ the sprawling homeless encampment off South Front Street in Harrisburg.

PennDOT is closing in soon to wrest control of the site as a staging area for the Interstate 83 widening project. As a result, a massive, multi-agency operation is underway to move the estimated 80 to 120 unhoused people living there to a football field-sized gravel parking lot about a mile away.
