SAINT PAUL, Minn. — Minnesota House Republicans have requested a federal audit of the Minnesota Department of Human Services, describing a "culture of fraud" in Medicaid programs requiring "federal intervention."
Four GOP state lawmakers sent a letter this week to the Office of Inspector General for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, including House Fraud Oversight Committee Chair Kristin Robbins, House Speaker Lisa Demuth, and representatives Jeff Backer and Joe Schomacker. The letter cited fraud in Housing Stabilization Services as well as autism and recovery centers, which have all been subject to extensive reporting by KARE 11 Investigates in recent months. Just last week, in fact, a federal search warrant affidavit referenced KARE 11's reporting as part of a law en
