CULVER, Ind-- The Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana hosted an adaptive water-skiing event on Lake Maxinkuckee for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. Many participants came out and showed their skills.
Karen Lawrence, Director of RHI Sports Program says “It’s just an amazing event. Volunteers have a great time; participants have a great time. You can’t beat it. It’s the best day of summer. “
There are two different types of skis. Some choose to use skis with outriggers that protect skiers from tipping and some use skis without the outriggers. It’s just a small ski that they can sit on, but it gives them the opportunity to perform jumps and tricks.
