Trains near Nuneaton had to be stopped after reports of a man acting aggressively yesterday evening (July 25). Officers from the British Transport Police responded at around 8pm.
Police were called to reports of a man on the tracks acting aggressively, and a man in his 30s was detained. He was arrested on suspicion of obstructing the railway, making threats to kill, driving while under the influence, and causing criminal damage, the British Transport Police said.
He remains in custody today (July 25). Services run by Avanti West Coast were reportedly affected.
Lines between Nuneaton and Tamworth were reportedly blocked. Services had major delays, last-minute cancellations, and diversions via Birmingham New Street .
