ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —

The University of New Mexico main campus in Albuquerque remains closed after a deadly shooting early Friday morning, July 25.

State police provided an update on the university shooting Friday evening.

New Mexico State Police Chief Troy Weisler said a 14-year-old male was killed in the shooting. The other shooting victim is 19 years old.

The arrested suspect was identified as 18-year-old John Fuentes. He was booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque.

The shooting suspect was arrested by state police officers in Valencia County, which is outside of Albuquerque. Weisler also said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident. UNM Police Chief Joseph Silva also provided an update on the investigation.
