JACKSON COUNTY, Georgia — A typically quiet community of about 250 people in northwestern Jackson County was shaken Wednesday evening after a multi-county police pursuit ended violent crash that closed Main Street for hours.

Neighbors stepped outside their homes along Talmo’s Main Street after Georgia State Patrol troopers forced a stolen vehicle off the road following a chase that began in nearby Hall County.

The pursuit started shortly before 6 p.m. when GSP said a trooper spotted a blue Chevrolet Silverado on Shallowford Road in Gainesville that matched the description of a vehicle stolen from Hardy Chevrolet.

According to GSP, a trooper attempted to stop the truck, but the driver refused and fled, sparking a pursuit that went down several streets.
