Two Individuals Arrested Following Fort Washington Park Incident

The United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Jay Clayton, and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Special Agent in Charge Ricky J. Patel on Thursday announced charges against Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez and Christhian Aybar-Berroa in connection with the July 19 shooting of an off-duty Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) Officer.

The incident, which occurred in Fort Washington Park in Manhattan, saw the off-duty officer shot in the face and right arm.

According to allegations in the complaint, the officer returned fire, striking Mora Nunez twice, before Mora Nunez fled the scene on a motorbike driven by Aybar-Berroa. Aybar-Berroa subsequently transported Mora Nunez to a hospital and later allegedly attem
