Tempe Police announced a new forensics unit designed to solve crimes with science in mind.
The first official cases began testing on June 16 and will continue to use tests to trace evidence such as tire tracks, fingerprints, blood stains and more.
Tempe Police partnered with Mesa Police and Forensics to facilitate a preparation process and training for crime scene specialists totaling more than nine months.
“Every piece of evidence tells a story, and our specialists are dedicated to uncovering the truth with respect, precision, and heart,” said Tempe Police Chief Ken McCoy in a press release.
