PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Public Safety is warning drivers not to attempt using "creepy dolls" as a strategy to skirt around the state's rules for using HOV lanes.
On Aug. 6, the state troopers reported conducting an HOV enforcement detail along State Route 51 and the Loop 101, which resulted in over 100 stops and 83 citations.
DPS noted that troopers encountered a couple of motorists who creatively attempted to circumvent the HOV requirement by strapping in fake passengers. The law enforcement agency posted photos of one car with a mannequin dressed in a hooded sweatshirt riding shotgun and another vehicle with a Chucky doll seated next to the driver.
