SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Friday afternoon was hot with a few isolated showers and storms. Highs were in the low to mid 90s with hotter heat index values. Much hotter and humid conditions will set up for the weekend and into early next week.
Sunday and Monday will be Storm Team 3 Weather Aware Days due to extreme heat.

A strong area of high pressure will settle in over the southeastern U.S. this weekend. This high-pressure center will be what is referred to as a heat dome and will lead to possibly record-breaking heat in the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
