( 25News Now ) - Coming into the day leading 4-2 overall, Team Peoria held off a late charge by Team Taz-Wood to win the Junior River Cup 10-8 for the second year in a row.

The two sides would end singles play today tied with six points each, but Peoria’s 2-point lead after yesterday’s two-man competition wound up proving to be valuable.

Tonight also closed out singles play at the Tri-County Tennis Tournament, with Peoria native Greyson Doscotch taking home the Men’s Open Title for the second year in a row, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. Dunlap senior Alassea Michel charged to the Women’s Open title with a 6-3, 6-1 decision.
